For an event that works for everyone...

Art Display and Viewing Guidelines

  1. Your art can be anything creative — painting, photography, dancing, woodworking, spoken word, balloon animals, mixed media, flower designs, artist flamingos, etc. Whatever your creative heart desires! This is a family-friendly event designed to foster creativity and community connections — please keep that in mind when creating your work.
  2. Display your art only on property you have permission to use. No lawn? No problem. Display in a window, on a balcony, in a friend’s yard or on top of your car.  If it can be seen from the street you’re good!
  3. If possible, display your visual arts at least during the hours of 9 am to 9 pm April 29 through May 7. (You can leave it up 24/7 during LAWN Week if you’d like.) For performance arts (dance, spoken word, music, theater, etc., please let us know your performance times so we can note that on your map pin.
  4. L.A.W.N. Raleigh is not liable for any property damage or personal injury. All participating is voluntary.
  5. NO SELLING. L.A.W.N. Raleigh is a celebration of creativity and neighborly connectedness. It’s not a retail opportunity and many HOAs/apartment complexes will reject the event if selling is involved. L.A.W.N. can be a great way to publicize your talent though, so go ahead and put out business cards or your website address next to your masterpiece.
  6. Businesses, schools, places of worships, etc. We hope you participate! We only ask that your art piece be created by your CEO/staff, students, parishioners, etc.
  7. Please do not touch the art or go into someone’s yard or private property without invitation — view from the street or sidewalk.
  8. Take lots of photos and share on social at #lawnraleigh. Follow @lawnraleigh on Instagram for updates and drawing winners.
